All guns with the capability of inflicting severe injury or death should be banned.

There is absolutely no need in a modern society for individuals who are not in law enforcement to own guns. The argument often cited about personal protection is flawed: human societies have been operating with clear divisions of labor for millennia; personal protection is entrusted to a well-defined police force.

Arguments for hunting are equally misplaced: no one in a modern society has to hunt for sustenance. Hunting can therefore only be classified as entertainment, so an actual weapon cannot be justified for such an activity.

Arguments about individual freedom can be answered by pointing to laws prohibiting the purchase and distribution of drugs.
