I have yet to hear a pro choice argument that meaningfully addresses the fact that abortion ends a human life.  I fully support birth control choices that prevent pregnancy, and I believe there are even gray areas at the early stage, but when it is a choice between quality of life for the mother or existence of life for the child, the latter seems like the obvious choice to me.  I believe that abortion should be the last option, considered chiefly in cases where the life of the mother or the child is at risk.  However, I would promote this not through penalizing those who make such a choice, but by incentivising alternatives such as preventative contraception, making adoption a more viable alternative for those mothers who do not wish to keep the child, and strengthened family support to make carrying the child less daunting of a prospect.
