I think that nuclear power is an excellent near-term solution to climate change. This is because nuclear power is greenhouse gas-free and can provide ample energy in most areas of the world that may not have access to carbon-free power sources like wind or solar. Nuclear also has the advantage of being a 24/7 power source, which wind and solar aren't. It is also a well-known and reliable energy source that can be expanded rapidly and easily. With an anticipated switch in the coming decades to electric vehicles and an increasing reliance on electric-powered devices, it makes sense to invest in this until we can establish wind and solar and energy storage at scale as reliable sources.
