Abortion is not the deciding factor in my voting decisions -- actually, it doesn't have any effect.  I believe that many other issues are more urgent, and that by making abortion the litmus test for candidate selection, Republicans and conservatives achieve much higher risk of having their candidate rejected in a general election, thus causing more liberals and Democrats to be elected; and that thus national-security issues and the economy, thus the people of American, will be much worse than if a abortion-neutral or -supporting candidate who was otherwise conservative were elected.  I believe the whole issue of abortion is gradually being diminished with scientific advances, including "morning-after" options, and women making decisions which obviate their chances of seeking abortions, and eventually will virtually disappear.  To lessen chances of positive outcomes in general by focusing on this one issue is I believe actually self-defeating, and even stupid.
