I believe that Social Security benefits need to be adjusted to ensure its solvency. We are living longer, and benefits will not be sustainable if changes are not made. We have several options for tweaking the system, and by tweaking each one a small amount, we can make sure Social Security is there for our children and grandchildren.
1 - pay less to higher income beneficiaries, &/or tax them more on the benefits they receive
2 - increase the minimum retirement age &/or reduce the benefit more for retiring at age 62
3 - modify spousal and survivor benefits so that benefits are shared fairly for the time of marriage together.
